Normal Class with Sad Stuff

Today we got into class and took a giant selfie and Sydney Walsh's face looked like Sid the Sloth. Don't worry she had one of those twisty filters on. Anyway we started the actual class by talking about total fertility rate and this is where things got sad. While talking about the total fertility rate we got into infant mortality. In the U.S. it's only 1 in 200 infants which in my opinion isn't bad. But then in other places where it is very poor the infants have a 1 in 12.5 chance in surviving until the age of 1. That's crazy. Take the freshman class at JC. We have about 150 kids just estimating. If we had that high of an infant mortality rate then we would not have 11 of those kids. That's so many and you dont really think about it because of how uncommon it is here.  Then we took another selfie to end the class.
